Kasulu Internet Project
Global Catalyst Foundation in cooperation with UNHCR was instrumental in the funding and concept design of the Kasulu Internet Project (KIP) for the Burundi refugees in Tanzania. In less than four years, KIP demonstrated a new model (Internet Learning Centers with broadband connectivity) for bringing education, economic development and health resources to two refugee camps and the host community (Kasulu). KIP was later hailed as a model for rural development by the Tanzanian Commission on Science and Technology.
